NEWS AND HAPPY TRAILS...

Family,

We received word today from Jessica that our case has made it through the local courts, and we now have the very infamous Document #1. This now means that we are on to Document #2 (let's hope this one doesn't become infamous) - earliest possible best case scenario time frame on getting a hold of that one is next Friday. We wait again. It really makes me think of the old fable telling the story of "slow and steady wins the race". Verrrrrry slowly we take tiny steps forward toward Koko. Thoughts of her give us lumps in our throats and aches in our hearts. It is so hard to explain, truly.

We know there are a lot of steps to get there....and there are a lot of other families still running their own verrrrry long, slow and steady races to get there. We always, always remember that we are not alone, not by a long shot.

Congratulations to all the families with new referrals and new court dates out there in blog land! And a huge thank you to folks who have generously given their time in-country to snap a few photos of our little Koko. You may not know just how thankful we are to have those few beautiful photos. We just want you to know you are special - we can't wait to pay it forward someday.

Finally, Chad and I are off to Haiti this weekend, after he does a wedding ceremony in Loveland - it's off to the airport tomorrow night to spend a week walking alongside the children of Haiti, learning from them in their persistent effort to make something of themselves and their country. I am humbled to be a part of the trip, my first time, and just one of many over the last few years for Chad. I know I will be changed, and am honored to be a part of something bigger than myself, something so much bigger than my own little world here in suburbia. I can't wait to tell you all about it when we get back - and so...

...we'll be back in blog land in a week - signing off...

smj out -- to see more of the world

PS - Scott and Tyler - we had a rockin' good time with you watching March Madness and eating Chinese! Thanks for stopping by! Love you!

What great news! Good to hear that Guido is bringing you such joy as well--it warms us to know that you are a happy family despite the ups and downs you face on a daily basis. Koko will wipe these uncertain days away in an instant the moment you hold her in your arms. Although we do not post often, we think about you both regularly and pray for you as well.

Lots of love, The Murtons
