PLAN B

Jessica just called.

Birthmother did not appear in court today, and will not be able to appear tomorrow either.

New plan. Court date October 15.

It feels as though time is now standing still.

No other words to express our feelings right now.

We ache for our baby girl.

OH. No. I am so very sorry. Too hard. A new court date is good, better than not, but I know, small cold comfort tonight. I will pray hard for your peace and comfort and keep you in our prayers. Hang in there. Be kind to yourself tonight....

Oh, I am so sorry! I wish I had the words to make you feel better. Please know that I am thinking of you and Koko. Rest assured that she is being loved and well taken care of at the Gladney center, and soon she will be home forever. Take care and comfort one another tonight.

Big Hugs!!

This is when you rely on friends, the blog community, each other, God... to carry you through. You will get through this, and you WILL get to your daughter. Also know that so many of us do understand, and you're not alone! My heart is breaking right along with yours... I agree with coffeemom... be kind to yourselves tonight and just rest in what the future holds...
love...

Oh guys ..... SO sorry to hear these news. I'm just weaping as I read tonight of many family's delays. When we were in Ethiopia bringing home our daughter .... one thing that encouraged me so much is that the staff there LONG for you to be united with your child(ren) also. They are working diligently on their behalf, yet still don't hold all the control. Know that you will not be forgotten through this journey. There are families that care SO deeply about you and the many children waiting. Keep hangin' on ... your babe is counting on you to persevere with them through this long and tedious journey. Much love, Shelly

As we were taking the girls fishing at Swan Lake tonight your dad said, "I have some bad news." My heart sank as I looked at him and said, "Not Koko!" Our hearts are very heavy; I can't imagine how your hearts are feeling.
Everything is in God's time; God's time IS the right time. When things are this much out of our control we feel helpless and at times hopeless. There is always hope among the helpless.
When it is time for Koko to come home she will. Until then she is being taken care of by loving, caring people. In the meantime she is getting to know you through the pictures you sent to her.
Take time to spend extra time with each other over the next couple of days and know that there is a plethora of people praying for you and your daughter. You and Koko are in the best hands of all ~ God Our Father, Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN!!

. . . we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance: perseverance, character: and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:3-5

We love you both very deeply and are thinking of you always, we can't wait to hold our new grand-daughter!!!

Love,
Dad and Melissa

There are no words to ease the ache in your hearts....no gifts to fill the emptiness in your arms...when the road is the darkest, remember that hope is a light we keep lit inside...a light we never extinguish. Lean on this loving family of yours...let us be your shelter, hold you up and share your tears and joys on this long, bumpy road that leads you to Koko. We love you....Dad and Billie

I am so sorry to learn of this heartbreaking news. You guys hang in there. In a year from now, this will all be a distant nightmare. I'll keep you all in my prayers, and I'll add Koko's birthmother to my list, as well.
Thinking of you,

Oh Susan...Oh Chad...you guys...my heart and support ache for you. Some day you will tell KOKO about how hard people prayed and how it seems like she's always been with you. You will hold her in your arms and re-tell the strength that comes in waiting. I affirm that. She will be such a lucky girl to have you as parents. Love, Rebecca
